The Opportunity

As the Data Engineering Lead you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure and pipelines for our liquid and investing activities. From building ETLs to optimizing our research and transaction infrastructure, this role will be responsible for all of Nascent’s Data Engineering activities. You will drive the strategy and execution of data acquisition to enable internal research and externally facing data projects in addition to serving as a key partner to create meaningful insights across our many data intensive activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and building data pipelines and APIs, with a strong foundation in data modeling, database design, and query optimization. Think data engineer with a software engineering lens, you can design and build software beyond data pipelines (you know the difference). You’ll have a passion for working with large datasets and a desire to leverage data to drive business insights and support decision-making. The responsibilities defined here are barely scratching the surface of the opportunity—as the Data Engineer Lead you’ll find new ways to add value to the firm and redefine your core role. As a fast-moving crypto-native firm, we have a lot of activities and both ingest and create a lot of data—your role is to identify, prioritize, and execute on the highest-value data-related activities for the firm. This is a full time fully remote position with preference for overlap with EST working hours.

About you

Required Experience
  • Experience developing complex software solutions other than data pipelines
  • Experience and familiarity building portfolio and risk analytics systems or other investment focused software
  • Substantive experience building and maintaining enterprise data systems, ETL frameworks, & pipelines
  • Building and managing data pipelines on bare metal outside of pure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience from beginning to end of a shipped working product (i.e., you’re an experienced builder)
  • Excellent Python and SQL skills
  • Familiarity with APIs (REST, Websockets, etc)
  • Experience beyond testing (e.g. quality processes, verification & validation)
  • Experience in configuring and managing cloud infrastructure (preferred AWS)

Qualifications

  • Tenacious and unafraid to find the answer to difficult problems and put together creative solutions with new technology. This field is evolving and we are expecting our ideal candidate to evolve with it

What do we do?

Chainflip is an efficient swapping protocol that enables users to swap native assets across different blockchains with excellent pricing. We just launched our FLIP token after 3.5 years of development, which has been a huge success.

We’re not yet another bridge. Our protocol design removes the need for wrapped tokens. We use MPC (Multi-Party-Computation), and in particular, TSS (Threshold Signature Schemes) to create aggregate keys held by a permissionless network of 150 Validators. These validators control simple smart contracts/wallets called Vaults, on multiple blockchains simultaneously. On top of that, we developed our own substrate-based application-specific blockchain — the Chainflip State Chain — to track balances, process events, and execute instructions. The end result? Fast, efficient, and ultra-competitive swaps. We’re taking on the CEXes for BTC volume!

This is an exciting challenge that we’ve been working on for 3 years now with our growing engineering team of 30. Unlike many crypto companies, we have a thriving office culture in the heart of Berlin, while still offering flexibility and partial remote work from time to time.

What’s the Job?

We are looking for an enthusiastic crypto native to join us as an Ecosystem Manager, working directly with William Johs, our Head of Ecosystem, Shaun van Vuuren, our Head of Marketing, and Simon Harman, our founder and CEO.

This is a highly dynamic role covering many different topics, all with the explicit goal of expanding and developing the Chainflip Ecosystem through Business Development, Outreach, Promotional Activities, and more. As examples of some of the projects you’ll be working on, you’ll:

  • Act as a first point of contact for projects that want to use the Chainflip SDK (Dealing with inbound requests)
  • Identify and engage prospective projects looking to go Cross-chain / that could benefit from Chainflip SDK
  • Research DeFi trends to find the leading projects in each ecosystem that we are in (i.e. Polkadot, Solana, etc.)
  • Monitor and track the performance of Chainflip’s integrations and partnerships
  • Activate existing ecosystem participants (Validators, MMs, etc.)
  • Attend 3-4 conferences per year
  • Plan events for conferences: Hackathons with DoraFactory, Ethcc event, EthBerlin event

The Member of Compliance, Transaction Monitoring will be on the front lines of implementing and developing the most advanced and regulated transaction monitoring program in the digital asset industry. You may be a fit for this role, if you have:

About the Role
We are currently focused on tokenizing publicly traded securities, particularly focused on cash equivalents (e.g. money market funds, US treasuries, etc.). Your Responsibilities Will Include…
    • Build out and Management of Investment Operations Team. Plan for, hire, and manage the investment operations team, including investment operations managers, associates, investment accountants, investment compliance personnel, consultants, and related parties. The Office Assistant plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for employees and visitors. As the first point of contact, the Receptionist will manage the front desk, handle inquiries, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong sense of professionalism.
Job Responsibilites:
    • Front Desk Management:
    • Greet and welcome visitors, clients, and employees in a friendly and professional manner;
    • Manage incoming calls, redirecting them to the appropriate department or individual;
    • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area;
    • Visitor Coordination: Register and sign in visitors, issue visitor badges, and notify appropriate personnel of arrivals;
    • Ensure all COVID-19 protocols are followed for the safety of visitors and employees.
    • Administrative Support:
    • Assist in general administrative tasks, including mail distribution, package handling, and maintaining office supplies;
    • Coordinate meeting room bookings and assist with scheduling;
    • Create, assign, and review work orders, purchase request generations & invoice receipts;
    • Coordinate work orders processes and work delivery with subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with SLAs and assist in resolving problems;
    • Assist facilities management staff with administrative duties or project work as required;
    • Organize and administer access cards, employee benefits, SWAG;
    • Making bookings for business travels;
    • Manage employees’ requests via the Admin ticket’s system in place.
    • Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations;
    • Handle inquiries and provide information to visitors and callers.
    • Security Management:
    • Monitor access control and ensure the security of the premises;
    • Collaborate with the security team to maintain a safe environment.
    • Event Support:
    • Assist in the coordination of company events, meetings, and conferences;
    • Provide support for catering and logistics as needed.
Job Requirements:
    • Proven experience as an office assistant or in a similar role is preferred;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in Bulgarian and English;
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. G-Suite;
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities;
    • Professional appearance and demeanor;
    • Punctuality and reliability are essential;
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality;
    • Knowledge of basic office equipment, including phone systems and printers;
    • Very good time management and organizational skills.

The Hardware Test Validation Technician is responsible for all test and qualification of hardware aspect for Ledger products. Working closely with EE, ME Engineer to identify, develop and deploy testing tools.
Ledger Hardware team is looking for passionate, self-motivated individuals to work on system bring-up and validation of our new products.
The mission
    • Elaborate, maintain and implement procedures for the testing and validation of Ledger products.
    • Run test plan for Ledger Products
    • Provide complete and detailed analysis of failing tests to help engineering teams understand better the corrective actions to be implemented.
    • Design and develop automated test equipment and tools for use in testing and validation
    • Data analysis to identify trends & potential improvements
Requirements
    • Experience on Hardware integration, development and validation processes.
    • Practical knowledge of hardware verification and validation test equipment.
    • Fundamental EE skills and able to review schematic.
    • Hands-on experience using lab equipment like oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, soldering iron.
    • Working knowledge and experience in programming language Python and/or C is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
